Responsible Denim
There is no shortcut to saving the planet. Our design process always starts with sourcing luxurious materials with minimal impact—and when we can’t find fabrics that meet our standards, we make them ourselves.
As first movers in denim sustainability, we’ve grown our Responsible Denim Program to include eco-conscious fabrics crafted from recycled or organically grown fibers, developed water-saving wash processes, and found a way to make comfort stretch denim degradable.
We even took on the elephant in the denim industry: The wash process. Our Responsible Wash Guidelines set a new standard that favors water-saving processes, responsible dyes and finishes, and minimizes harmful chemicals. We’ve come a long way—and the journey is just beginning.

Pure Denim
Everything on our planet needs water to exist, but denim shouldn't be one of them. PURE denim preserves our most precious resource by using a unique, virtually waterless wash process.
To reduce carbon emissions, PURE is made start-to-finish in our eco-conscious Los Angeles facilities, using state-of-the-art technology and responsible production methods for minimal impact. Crafted from 100% biodegradable cotton fabric, PURE takes our Responsible Wash Initiative a step further—setting a new standard for luxury denim that puts the planet first.
Our goal is to create minimal impact on the Earth, and positive impact for people: In March 2022, we donated 10% of net profits from Pure by FRAME to water.org, a non-profit that supports people affected by the water crisis by providing safe, accessible, cost-effective water and sanitation solutions.

(Bio) Degradable Denim
This garment is composed of 100% cotton fabrics which are finished with a microplastics-free process and some vegetable compounds, reducing toxic or harmful chemicals and making it better for the environment in its afterlife. Sewn with natural fiber threads, washed with eco-friendly finishing agents, and featuring recycled & organic labels printed with soy-based inks, this jean breaks down in a less harmful way. We have removed our traditional rivets and added easily removable hardware – buttons made of partially recycled metals that unscrew by hand and zippers from 100% recycled poly tape that are easily cut out of the jean, so you are able to detach and dispose of your jeans in an environmentally friendly way.
